Policies
Thank you for choosing to stay with us at The Gateway. Below are hotel policies and procedures; read them carefully.
CHECK-IN
Check-in time is any time after 4 PM. If you arrive earlier then we will be pleased to store your luggage until your room is ready. Guests will be required to present a valid credit/debit card upon check-in along with a valid form of identification. The Gateway will make every effort to honor special requests upon your arrival. However, the availability of these items cannot be guaranteed in advance. The hotel reserves all rights to refuse service to any guests of the hotel who do not follow or comply with hotel policies.
CHECKOUT
Checkout is at 11 AM. If you require a later checkout, please contact us before 10 am on the day of departure, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. A charge may apply, depending on availability.
CASH PAYMENT
If you choose to pay with cash, you will be required to pay the full amount of the room, including taxes and fees upfront. A $100.00 deposit per night is required and will be returned to you on your departure date
CANCELLATION POLICY
All room reservations have a 48-hour cancellation policy unless otherwise noted. Any changes on packages or rates to your reservation must be done 48 hours prior to your arrival date. Reservations that are not cancelled within 48 hours are subject to a charge of the full stay plus tax.
Reservations made through a booking site such as booking.com must be cancelled directly through the OTA.
Taxes
The Gateway charges GST, PST and a destination tax of 3% as regulated by the Provincial government
SMOKING POLICIES
Smoking is prohibited in all public areas of the property and in rooms, including rooms with a balcony (a $250.00 fine will be applied for smoking). Smoking is allowed in designated “smoking” area of the property.
AGE RESTRICTIONS
Guests must be 21 years or older to check in without a parent or legal guardian.
NO IN-ROOM PARTY POLICY
The Gateway enforces a NO IN-ROOM PARTY POLICY to ensure we can protect the motel and our guests at all times. In the event of a disturbance one warning will be given to reduce noise. If this warning is not followed, the guest will forfeit all fees and must leave the hotel immediately.
PET POLICIES
Pets are allowed with prior approval in our pet friendly room. A charge will apply. “Service animals” are allowed with proper documentation.
If you are traveling with your pet they are subject to management approval and there is a pet fee of $15/day. As we have both pet free and friendly rooms we must be advised if you are traveling with your pet so that we can place you in the proper room type. If you are booking online you can advise us of your traveling companions in the comment section of your reservation. Guests that fail to notify us of any pets traveling with them will be refused their reservation if no pet friendly options are available
- Pets must be on a leash and under control at all times
- Pets must be cleaned up after. If you require bags we would be more than happy to provide some to you at the front desk.
- Pets cannot be left unattended in rooms unless they are crated, quiet and only alone for short periods of time (2 hours max).
- Rooms that have pets left unattended will not receive housekeeping due to the potential for injury, stress or escape.
- Pets can join you on the patio and seating areas as long as they are under control
If the weather is not sunny we can provide you with rags upon request to wipe any muddy paws. - Pets are never allowed in the lobby.
